Police alerted to restaurant holdup

An alert resident flagged down police Thursday evening after an armed robbery at a Bryan, Ohio, restaurant.

The police department said an employee of Subway, 217 S. Main St., called police at 8:37 p.m. to report that a man came into the stop, brandished a knife and took money from the register.

While officers from the Bryan Police Department and Williams County Sheriff’s Department searched the area, one of the officers was told that the robber might be on East Wilson Street.

Seth A. McAtee of Bryan was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery, Bryan police said.

Police authorities said the man later admitted his role in the crime.
