Body found on complex grounds

A man was found dead Sunday evening in front of an apartment building in north Fort Wayne, and investigators are trying to determine how he died, city police said.

About 7:50 p.m., police received a report that the man was on the ground at Stone Pointe Village Apartments in the 400 block of Cedar Glen Drive, near Coldwater and Cook roads, said officer John Chambers, a police spokesman.

Officers and paramedics arrived, and the man was pronounced dead. His name and age were not released.

Chambers said investigators interviewed neighbors in an attempt to learn more about the man’s death. But late Sunday, it was still unclear how the man died and whether foul play was involved.

The results of an autopsy are pending, he said.

Chambers did not know whether the man had any visible injuries, but said a weapon was not found.
