Big Ten, Pac-12 add pair of bowl games

The Big Ten and Pac-12 will partner with the Holiday Bowl and Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl starting in 2014, the conferences announced today.

The conferences will face each other from 2014 through 2019 in both bowls.

The Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl will feature the No. 4 pick from the Pac-12 and the "best possible matchup" from the Big Ten. The Holiday Bowl will get the No. 2 pick from the Pac-12 and the best match from the Big Ten, as well.

"The Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl is a welcome addition to the national Big Ten bowl family," Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany said.

The game will be played in Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. Levi's Stadium is the 68,500-seat home of the San Fransisco 49ers.

The Holiday Bowl added a stipulation that the Big Ten not put the same team in the bowl more than twice during its six-year agreement. That game is played at Qualcomm Stadium, the home of the San Diego Chargers, which has a capacity of 71,294.
