Special events

•Worship in the Park at Franke Park will be at 8 a.m. Sunday. The service, in the pavilion near the entrance to the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo, is hosted by Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. Larry Hencye will officiate, and the Lutheran Chorale, Emily Franz and Franz’s “Lord’s Prayer” solo will be featured.

The Youth Leadership and Ministry Conference for high school students will be Friday and June 29 at the University of Saint Francis, 2702 Spring St. Hosted by the Campus Ministry and Peer Ministry students, registration information is available at sf.edu/sf/youth-leadership.

Worship on the Covered Bridge service will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at the covered bridge in Spencerville. Activities will begin at 3 p.m. with a carry-in at 5 p.m.

Powers Church, nine miles east of Angola, north of U.S. 20 on Old Road 1, will have its first service of the season at 7 p.m. Sunday. The Top of Ohio Dulcimer Friends will perform and Dave Tilly, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Montpelier, Ohio, will give the devotional talk. An ice cream social will take place after the service. The church service is monthly on the fourth Sunday evening; the next services will be July 28 and Aug. 25.

North Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 5210 Camden Drive, will have a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 29.

Vacation Bible School

Trinity Lutheran Church, 7819 Decatur Road, will have its Vacation Bible School for children ages 3 to 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 to 11 a.m. June 29. The theme is “Hay Day! Growing in Friendship with Jesus VBS.” For information, call 447-2411.

Forest Park United Methodist Church, 2100 Kentucky Ave., will have its Vacation Bible School from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday for children ages pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. The theme is “Everywhere Fun Fair: Where God’s World Comes Together.” For information, call 484-6696.

Tree of Life Missionary Baptist Church, 520 E. Washington Blvd., and Blossoms of Life Child Care Ministries No. 2 will have a Vacation Bible School from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday for ages 2 to 18. The Diocesan Choir from Madison, Wis., will provide the music for the 5 p.m. liturgy today at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 1122 S. Clinton St.
