Awards/recognition

Ania Walker of Fort Wayne is a state finalist in the National American Miss Indiana pageant, which will be July 6 in Indianapolis. Walker will compete in the pre-teen division.

Clarence “Mickey” Benton, a United Way of Allen County volunteer, received the Monsignor Thiele award June 14 from the Raymond Rosenberger Foundation. Benton is serving his third year on the board of directors and chairs the labor community service committee.

Giving back

•The YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne Golf Outing at Pine Valley Country Club raised more than $15,000 for Camp Potawotami.

Parkview Women and Children’s Hospital received $17,000 in electronics from Child’s Play Charity. The items will be used in pediatrics, physical and occupational therapies and at Parkview Behavioral Health.

Indiana Humanities and Indiana Landmarks awarded the Embassy Theatre Foundation $2,000 for its study trips and the Fort Wayne History Center $2,000 for its Akima Pinsiwa Awiiki Miami Indian Heritage Days.

Reunions

Snider High School Class of 1978 will have its reunion 7 p.m. July 27 at Club Soda, 235 E. Superior St. An advanced payment of $25 is required by July 19. For information, call Kimberly Clark at 422-5614.

Bishop Luers High School Class of 1993 will have its reunion 7 p.m. Aug. 3 at Cocktails Bar, 6133 Plantation Lane. There is no cost to attend. For more information, call 456-1261.

Paulding High School Class of 1993 will have its reunion 6 p.m. July 13 at the Paulding Eagles, Paulding, Ohio. Cost is $15 a person or $25 for couples. The annual Squigmo Golf Outing will be at 8:30 a.m. at Pond-A-River Golf Course, 26025 River Road in Woodburn. Cost for the golf outing is $50 a person.
