Aboite man faces meth, pot, neglect charges

FORT WAYNE – A man living in a quiet Aboite Township neighborhood on the west side of Fort Wayne is accused of several drug charges and neglect of a dependent after a search of his home earlier this week.

A man identified as Max Goff by the Fort Wayne Police Department has been charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of drug precursors, illegal dumping of hazardous waste, maintaining a common nuisance, neglect of a dependent, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

His home in the 4400 block of Turf Lane, just south of Aboite Center Road, was searched shortly after 7 a.m. Wednesday on a narcotics search warrant, according to a statement from the Vice/Narcotics Division of the police department.

Detectives from the division, the Meth Lab Suppression Team and the Emergency Services Unit searched the home and reported finding evidence of methamphetamine production.

Police said a teenager was in the home at the time of the search and was placed with the Department of Child Services.

Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control and the Fort Wayne-Allen County Department of Health also assisted at the home.

Goff's bond was set at $57,750, police said.
