Arts Update

AT THE LIBRARY:

•“Photobooth Day” will be at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday at the Allen County Public Library, 900 Library Plaza.

•“Sit and Stitch” will be offered for those wanting to learn to knit at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Pontiac Branch, 2215 S. Hanna St.

•“Yarn Lover’s Gathering” will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Woodburn Branch 4701 Indiana 101 N., Woodburn.

AUTHORS PUBLISHED:

•Claypool author Marc Thomas Eckel has released his new Christian novel, “Leperd.” The book is available at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore.

AWARDED: Cinema Center has received a $5,000 grant from The Waterfield Foundation and a $20,000 grant from The Chapman Fund. The money will be used to purchase and install digital projection equipment.

CAMPS: The Honeywell Center in Wabash will offer the following camps: “Hands on Visual Art with Candie Cooper” and “Featured Artists Visual Arts Camp.” The camps are for kindergarten through eighth grade and begin July 8. FUNDRAISER: The folk/rock band James and the Drifters have planned to raise money for its upcoming album, which features songs like “Cold Wind Blowing” that tells of the band’s time performing for incarcerated individuals. WINNERS NAMED: The Honeywell Center in Wabash has named the following artists as winners of the 2013 Clark Gallery Themed Art Competition: Cherie Droege of Roanoke, Brenda Ramseier of Silver Lake, Donna Williams of Warsaw, Bea Knarr of North Manchester, Nancy Moore and Raymond New, both of Wabash, and Eunice Scully of Huntertown.

WORKSHOP: Artlink, 300 E. Main St., will sponsor “Crash Course in Photoshop with Cara Lee Wade” from Monday through June 28 at University of Saint Francis School of Creative Arts, 1111 Leesburg Road.
