Knute Rockne

Smell like a champion today

OK, this is just too good not to Blobify about.

A Notre Dame perfume. And just in time for football season!

No word yet on what the fragrance will smell like; I'm thinking a cross between Rudy's grimy practice jersey and Zagnut bars (for Lou Holtz, who loved the things), with just a hint of lutefisk (a Norwegian delicacy and a nod to Norway's favorite son, Knute Rockne).

In any case, this is hardly a novel idea. In 2008, Masik Collegiate Fragrances released a series of college-themed fragrances. The LSU fragrance "held a purple and gold palate and carried fragrant notes of plum, honey, and golden bourbon, while the North Carolina variation exuded scents of orange, jasmine, and violet."

The Duke fragrance, on the other hand, held faint notes of holier-than-thou snootiness with hints of entitled self-aggrandizement.

OK, OK. So I made that one up.
