Michaels penning memoir

The sportscaster who once asked “Do you believe in miracles?” has a book deal.

Al Michaels, the longtime TV play-by-play man, is working on a memoir that will be released by HarperCollins imprint William Morrow. The publisher said that no title or release date has been set.

The 68-year-old Michaels is perhaps best known for the 1980 Winter Olympics and the “Miracle On Ice.” As the U.S. hockey team stunned the favored Soviet Union, Michaels exclaimed, “Do you believe in miracles? YES!”

Divorce sought

News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch has filed for divorce from Wendi Deng Murdoch, his wife since 1999.

Murdoch filed a one-page document Thursday indicating that he was opening a divorce case in New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan.

Palin rejoins Fox

Sarah Palin is rejoining Fox News Channel.

The network said Thursday that the former Republican vice presidential candidate has signed on as a contributor to Fox and the Fox Business Network. Her first appearance is scheduled for Monday on the “Fox & Friends” morning show – on the same day CNN is premiering a morning show to great fanfare.

Fox and Palin parted ways in January after she had worked there for three years as a contributor.
