TinCaps lose at West Michigan

With the potential tying run on third base with one out in the top of the ninth inning, the TinCaps were unable to score in a 2-1 loss to West Michigan on Friday at Fifth Third Ballpark in Comstock Park, Mich.

Corey Adamson remained stranded on third base after hitting a one-out triple to center field.

Fort Wayne (41-25) grabbed a 1-0 lead when Chris Burke tripled and scored on Rodney Daal’s double in the second inning.

Starter Joe Ross pitched 6 2/3 innings before being removed in the seventh.

West Michigan (31-35) took the lead in the bottom of the eighth on a two-out home run from Lance Durham.

The TinCaps and West Michigan will play at split doubleheader today. The first game is at noon, with the second at 7 p.m.
