Norwell tied at 1 after 3

INDIANAPOLIS – Norwell is tied with Jasper at 1 after three innings of the Class 3A state baseball championship game Friday at Victory Field.

In the third, Norwell tied the score at 1 on an RBI single by Jonah Patten, who knocked in Josh VanMeter.

Jasper scored first, getting a run in the second on a hit, an error, passed ball and RBI groundout to go up 1-0 in the second.

It could have been 2-0, but Jonah Patten threw out a baserunner at home for the second out.
