Straight-line winds slam Wabash

The National Weather Service in northern Indiana on Thursday confirmed that straight-line winds destroyed a grain silo and two barns on Wednesday evening in Wabash.

The weather service said the winds – going an estimated 90 mph to 100 mph – struck the buildings on the northwest side of the city of Wabash shortly after 10:45 p.m.

That area of the city also had extensive tree damage, the weather service said.
