Cat adoptions are $10 during Feline Frenzy

Statement as issued Thursday by Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control:

It’s a Feline Frenzy Summer at Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control where hundreds of adorable, adoptable cats and kittens are spruced up and purring to be adopted. It’s a great time to adopt a healthy, vaccinated, spayed or neutered feline from the city shelter. Many of the available kittens have been under the care of volunteers in private foster homes where the kittens have been well-socialized. Best of all, they can be adopted at the Summer Feline Frenzy fee of $10, an opportunity made possible by an Animal Care & Control Commission grant. All cats and kittens will receive a microchip and local veterinary clinics donate the first wellness exam.

According to ACC spokesperson, “We are doing our best to save more lives with a $10 adoption fee, while easing the up-front expenses of adding a pet to the family. We encourage the community to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity made possible through this special donation-based grant.”

Included in each adoption is the video, Training Your Adopted Cat to help families learn the responsible care needs of cats throughout their lives. The shelter will evaluate the program’s success and hopes to be able to extend the offer beyond summer as donations to the program through the Animal Care & Control Commission permits.
