Nine of Purdue's 20 sports programs improved or held steady in the most recent NCAA Academic Progress Rate report, which was released today.
The Boilermakers had four teams score a perfect 1,000 in single-year APR, which is a measure of academic success and graduation rates for NCAA programs. Men's golf, soccer, women's tennis and volleyball all got perfect marks, and men's basketball remained at a 995 in the most recent report.
Ten of 20 teams improved in their multi-year APR scores. The multi-year APR is used to judge whether a program will be sanctioned by the NCAA for a lack of academic success. Sanctions are imposed at a cutoff of 900, and a 930 cutoff is being grandfathered in during the coming academic years.
An APR of 930 is equivalent to a 50 percent graduation rate.
