Indiana gets high marks in APR

Eleven of Indiana's 24 sports earned perfect marks in the NCAA's 2012-13 Academic Progress Rate report, which was released today.

IU got perfect scores of 1,000 in men's basketball, men's cross country, men's golf, men's soccer, men's tennis, men's outdoor track, wrestling, women's golf, women's softball, women's soccer and women's tennis, according to the Hoosiers' athletics department.

After four years at the helm, men's basketball coach Tom Crean has his squad at a perfect 1,000 in the multi-year APR as well. That measurement is what determines NCAA sanctions and similar repercussions, and it is measured on the team's academic achievement in the last four years.

No other Big Ten men's basketball program scored higher in the multi-year APR.

An APR of 930 is equivalent to a 50 percent graduation success rate of athletes in the given sport. The current standard for a program to avoid NCAA sanctions is 900, but that number will move to 930 in coming years.

Here are the multi-year APRs for each of the 24 IU sports. The current data account for the 2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons.
