Indiana advances to College World Series

Indiana baseball is headed to Omaha.

The Hoosiers advanced to their first-ever College World Series at the historic venue in Nebraska with an 11-6 win against Florida State on Sunday in Tallahassee, Fla. IU swept its Super Regional matchup against the Seminoles with a win Saturday, as well.

"I join the entire university community in congratulating the IU baseball team for continuing its historic season with its first-ever trip to the College World Series," IU president Michael McRobbie said in a statement.

Plenty of coaches, and peers, chimed in via social media.

"Proud to say at Indiana WE ARE A BASEBALL SCHOOL!!!" IU men's basketball coach Tom Crean said on Twitter. "Our Team is Rolling! Congratulations to all that make up Indiana Baseball."

The congratulations were well deserved.

IU became the first Big Ten team to reach the CWS since Michigan in 1984. The Hoosiers head to Omaha with a 48-14 record.
