Max needs a home

Max is a 6-year-old neutered male tricolor beagle blend.

“I am back at the Allen County SPCA by no choice of my own.

“The family who adopted me was going through a hard time and couldn’t afford to care for me anymore. They also said I gave the young children in the home warning snaps and that I was not comfortable with them when they got in my space. The staff hasn’t noticed anything alarming with my behavior.

“I seem to love attention! I am very adorable if I say so myself, don’t you agree?

“I do well on my housebreaking but I will need an adjustment period when I come home with you. The staff recommends you crate me while you are away to help me get on a regular routine and learn my surroundings.

“I will need frequent brushings to keep my shedding down. I would love to take daily strolls around the neighborhood with you so my little beagle nose can have a heyday checking out all the wonderful smells of the world.

“I can be quite the barker. What can I say, I am true to my breed! I love to carry a conversation with you and tell you exactly what I am thinking. Don’t worry though, I am working on an ‘enough’ command to stop my barking and am showing a lot of improvement with that.

“Like I said before I love just about everyone I come into contact with but I will need to go to a home with older children who know to give me space when I need it. I get along with other dogs and didn’t seem to mind the kitty being present during my behavior assessment.

“If you are interested in spending some time with me to make sure I am the right dog for you and lifestyle please come to the Allen County SPCA Tuesday-Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to visit me!”

I am waiting for you to take me home!

Love, Max
