    In East Lansing, Michigan, the IPFW women’s doubles team of Marcy Huck and Mayu Sato finished the season-opening tennis tournament at Michigan State undefeated Sunday.

    The IPFW women's soccer team (1-6) fell 3-0 at Oxford, Ohio to Miami. Kelsey Dinges scored for the RedHawks in the 25th minute from a free kick deflection to give the hosts a one-goal advantage at halftime.

Women's soccer schedule out

Eight of 11 starters from last season's 10-8-1 team that was runner-up in the Summit League tournament return for the 2013 women's soccer season that begins with an Aug. 23 home match against Wright State.

IPFW recently released the 2013 schedule for the soccer team under the guidance of Margaret Saurin, who last year was the Summit League Coach of the Year.

The match against Wright State will be the first of five consecutive home matches for the Mastodons. Northern Iowa will visit Aug. 25, and IPFW will play host to Ball State in a men's-women's doubleheader on Aug. 30. IPFW concludes its home stretch against Butler on Sept. 2 and against Miami, Ohio in another men's-women's doubleheader Sept. 6.

IPFW will make its debut with a pair of exhibition games at Detroit (Aug 12) and at home against Western Michigan (Aug. 17).
