The Dirt is back

The Dirt gardening column returns today in the Home section of The Journal Gazette.

Thanks to all of you who were asking for it. Today's column is about lemon balm, which looks like a girl in a frilly skirt but acts like a thug. If you want to check it out, click on this link.

I hope you'll share a favorite garden photo or two over the summer. Most will appear on We're Digging It, but some have been known to end up as the basis of a column in The Dirt.

If you do want to send in a photo, it can be emailed to garden@jg.net. Because this address gets all kinds of messages, please put The Dirt in the subject line.

Photos can be sent in the JPEG or bitmat format as attachments. Please don't send a lot of photos at once, because it can overwhelm our system.

Please give your name, what community you call home and where you took the photo, if it is a different place. If your child, other family member or pet is in the photo, we'll need the name.

I love before and after photos, if anyone is of a mind to offer both.

Happy gardening,

-- Anne
