The Hoosiers, the No. 1 seed in the Big Ten tournament, will play No. 3 seed Nebraska at 12:05 p.m. today at Target Field in Minneapolis. The Huskers (29-29) forced today’s game with a 7-6, 11-inning win over the Hoosiers (42-14) on Saturday night.
The Irish, No. 7 seed in the Big East tournament, reached the final by defeating No. 3 seed Pittsburgh 3-2 on Saturday in Clearwater, Fla.
The Cardinals, No. 4 seed in the Mid-American Conference, reached the championship game with a 4-1 win over No. 1 seed Kent State in Avon, Ohio.
Notre Dame (34-23) will face No. 8 seed Connecticut (33-26), a 2-1 winner over No. 5 seed Rutgers, and Ball State (31-23) plays No. 6 seed Bowling Green (25-32), a 1-0 winner over No. 7 seed Toledo.
The Irish defeated Pitt (42-17) with Ryan Bull’s bases-loaded single in the bottom of the 10th.
The Cardinals’ Chris Marangon limited Kent State (36-23) to one run on six hits in eight innings.
All three teams can earn automatic berths to the NCAA tournament with wins.
