Woman injured in ATV crash

Indiana conservation officers are investigating an ATV crash that injured a Corydon woman early this morning.

Christie Y. Leadford, 45, of Corydon was the passenger in the ATV when it slid down an embankment and flipped onto it's right side, according to a statement. Leadford was flown to University of Louisville Hospital with injuries to her right hip and leg. The accident involved a side-by-side style ATV.

The Crawford County Sheriff's Department, Crawford County EMS, and Leavenworth Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene.

Indiana conservation officers strongly encourage riders to always wear a helmet, use necessary safety equipment, and perform safety checks prior to operating an ATV.
