Special events

New Haven United Methodist Church, 630 Lincoln Highway E., New Haven, will have a rummage sale from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday. All proceeds go to support missions.

Great Kids Allen County will host the workshop, “Pass It On: The Power of Intergenerational Relationships in Faith Formation,” from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Omni Room, Citizens Square, 200 E. Berry St., and from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday in Room 375 at Citizens Square. The training is free. To register, call 449-7272 or email info@greatkidsallencounty.org.

Waynedale United Methodist Church, 2501 Church St., will host Community Family Movie Night at 8 p.m. Friday. The free movie is outside weather permitting; popcorn is free, but drinks cost 50 cents. Bring lawn chair or blanket.

Calvary United Methodist Church, 6301 Winchester Road, will present Choir Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Following the music will be a steak dinner that features steak, baked potato, salad, dessert and drink; cost is $8 adults, $5 children 10 and under. For more information, call 747-9218.

The Rev. David Meinzen has been named full-time campus chaplain at the University of Saint Francis. Meinzen has served as part-time interim campus chaplain since fall 2012 and as an adjunct professor of philosophy until 2009.
