Big Ten-ACC women’s games set

– Indiana women’s basketball will face Virginia Tech, and Purdue will play Duke in the 2013 Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

The Boilermakers head to Durham, N.C., to take on the Blue Devils on Dec. 5.

It will be the second meeting between the teams during Challenge play and the ninth overall.

The 2011 meeting between the squads was a top-15 matchup, with then-No. 7 Duke beating then-No. 13 Purdue 64-53 in Durham.

The Boilermakers are 3-5 against Duke, including four straight losses to the Blue Devils.

The Hoosiers will play host to the Hokies on Dec. 4 in the first game the teams have played against each other in program history.

IU is 3-3 in the Challenge and has won two of its last three outings.

The ACC won the Challenge with a 7-5 record in 2012.

The Big Ten holds the overall advantage over the ACC in all nonconference competition during the past two seasons with a 19-18 record.

That includes games outside of the Challenge.

Purdue released its single-play schedules for the Big Ten slate.

The Boilermakers and Hoosiers will play once in West Lafayette.

Purdue will also face Iowa and Wisconsin at home and Illinois, Michigan State and Minnesota on the road in single-play action.

Indiana hasn’t released its single-play opponents yet. It plans to do so soon.
