Teen held in stabbing death of infant

SANDUSKY, Ohio – Police say a 19-year-old is charged with aggravated murder in the stabbing of an 11-week-old baby in northern Ohio.

Sandusky police said the man is due to be arraigned Friday. Investigators say he is related to the baby, but is not the child’s father.

Police Chief John Orzech said what led up to the stabbing is still under investigation.

Officers responded to the home where the suspect lives after getting a hangup 911 call late Thursday night.

Several adults were at the home where officers found the injured baby, including 19-year-old Denzel Castile, who was arrested and later charged with aggravated murder.

Orzech said the suspect’s grandfather suffered a small cut, but was not seriously injured.

He said the baby’s mother wasn’t there at the time of the stabbing.
