Correction

An editorial Thursday gave the incorrect amount that a new fire protection infrastructure fee will generate. The fee will free up $3.5 million now covered by property tax revenues. The City Council’s vote on the fee was part of a package that addressed the findings of a cost-of-service study required by the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission. It restated rates passed a year ago to address a backlog of water main replacements and repairs.
