Man, 30, arrested in credit card thefts

A man wanted in Warsaw for stealing three credit cards was arrested Thursday at a Fort Wayne motel.

Christopher Clapp, 30, was arrested after he submitted an application for employment at a Fort Wayne business, Warsaw police said.

Clapp listed the Travel Inn on West Coliseum Boulevard as his home address, and police located him at the motel and took him into custody.

On Thursday, a woman called police to report three of her credit cards had been stolen by a man who was renting a room from her.

An investigation determined Clapp was responsible for the theft and use of the credit cards. He obtained more than $515 in cash and cigarettes before the cards were canceled, according to police.

Clapp was being held at the Allen County Jail.
