Big Ten releases 2014 conference slate

The Big Ten athletic directors approved the 2014 conference football schedule, which was released today.

Purdue and Indiana will play in the first back-to-back games at the same stadium since the series' inception, thanks to a quirk in the conference scheduling. The Boilermakers will visit the Hoosiers in Bloomington two years in a row.

Since 1891, the teams have split time between Bloomington and West Lafayette, with each team getting a home game in alternating seasons.

The teams also released their full schedules for the year.

IU will play home games against Maryland on Sept. 27, Michigan State on Oct. 18, Penn State on Nov. 8 and the Boilermakers on Nov. 29. Its away games include Iowa on Oct. 11, Michigan on Nov. 1, Rutgers on Nov. 15 and Ohio State on Nov. 22

The Hoosiers will have bye weeks Oct. 4 and Oct. 25.

Purdue's home schedule brings Iowa to town Sept. 27, Michigan State on Oct. 11, Wisconsin on Nov. 8 and Northwestern on Nov. 22. The Boilermakers play at Illinois on Oct. 4, at Minnesota on Oct. 18, at Nebraska on Nov. 1 and the game against Indiana in Bloomington.

Purdue gets byes Oct. 25 and Nov. 15.
