Homestead senior hurdler is busy

Trevor Stanley has state championship aspirations in the 300-meter hurdles in a couple of weeks. But the Homestead senior doesn't mind in running in other events along the way. It actually helps him.

Stanley, who broke his own 300 hurdles sectional record with a 37.45, finished second in the 100 and 400 relay at the Wayne boys track sectional Thursday.

"I am actually looking forward to hopefully running some other events before the 300 at state, just to give me a warm-up and get in the sprinting mode," Stanley said. "I am happy how I did in the 100. It was better than I expected."

It also helped the Spartans win the team title, 151-136, over No. 3 Wayne.
