Offering cold drinks, good food and a view of the muddy river – their words, not mine – The Deck at Don Hall’s Gas House, 305 E. Superior St., is now open.
To restate the obvious, the deck attached to the Gas House kicked off its season Tuesday and will offer a limited menu of sandwiches, salads and appetizers. Owner Ben Hall says much of the menu hasn’t changed but a spin on the Hall’s favorite Buster burger makes an appearance. It has more cheese, bacon and is served on a more upscale brioche roll, ditching the middle chip, as Hall says, or the middle bun.
It opens at 11 a.m. daily Monday through Thursday, the kitchen closes at 11 p.m. and the bar closes at midnight; Friday and Saturday, the kitchen closes at midnight and the bar is open until 1 a.m.; on Sunday, the Deck closes at 9 p.m.
