Baseball draw released

The championship game of the Bellmont Sectional on Memorial Day could pit two top-10 Class 3A baseball teams against each other. The IHSAA released the postseason draw Tuesday.

Second-ranked Norwell will play the host Braves on May 22, while No. 8 Whitko has Eastbrook in the bye game May 24.

The Knights still would have to face the winner of the Mississinewa-Heritage game in the sectional semifinals. But the two teams could meet May 27 in the 1 p.m. championship game.

Leo, ranked No. 3 in 3A, will play Garrett in a bye game May 23 in the Angola Sectional.

In 4A, No. 5 Northrop will open up Carroll Sectional play against North Side on May 22.

In 2A, No. 2 Adams Central has Churubusco on May 27 in its first game of the Bishop Luers Sectional.
