$1 million Powerball ticket was bought here

Someone who bought a Powerball ticket at a Fort Wayne convenience store for Saturday’s drawing is now holding a $1 million winner, according to the Hoosier Lottery.

The ticket was purchased at Lassus Handy Dandy at 10040 Lima Road, south of Dupont Road. It was one of 16 tickets nationwide to match the first five numbers but not the Powerball number.

Sunday afternoon, clerk Sandy Trump said many customers had come to the store to have their tickets checked but that none of them was the big winner.

“So far a lot of people have won some money, but not the million-dollar one yet,” she said.

Trump said she had no clue who the lucky person might be. “I’m kind of anxious to find out,” she said.

Lottery officials advise the holder of the winning ticket to sign the back of the ticket immediately and contact Hoosier Lottery customer service for information on how to claim the prize.

The winning numbers drawn were 6-13-19-23-43, and the Powerball was 16. No one matched all six numbers, so Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot has grown to an estimated $350 million.
