IPFW lands in Louisville regional

The IPFW softball team will head to Louisville, Ky., for the opening round regional in the NCAA tournament.

The Summit League champion Mastodons (33-14) will take on the host Cardinals (46-11) in the regional, which will take place from Friday to Sunday. Depending on the result of that game, they will play either the winner or the loser of a matchup between UCLA and Alabama-Birmingham.

The regional is a double-elimination format, with one team advancing to a best-of-three series in a super-regional against the winner of another pool.
