Mellencamp-King musical tour to kick off Oct. 10

BLOOMINGTON – A musical created by rocker John Mellencamp, novelist Stephen King and producer T-Bone Burnett will kick off a 20-city tour this fall in Bloomington.

“Ghost Brothers of Darkland County” is billed as a “Southern Gothic supernatural musical of fraternal love, lust, jealousy and revenge.” The show premiered last year in Atlanta to mixed reviews.

The Indianapolis Star reports the tour will kick off in Bloomington on Oct. 10 and stop at Butler University’s Clowes Hall on Oct. 18.

Mellencamp and King began working on the idea for the musical in 2000. Burnett has produced recent Mellencamp albums and is credited as the show’s musical director.
