Plea deal set in DWI crash death

A 19-year-old man was taken into custody after he pleaded guilty Friday morning to causing death while driving drunk.

Under the terms of a plea agreement, Kevin M. Nader of Fort Wayne will be sentenced to between two and four years in prison and given a five-year driver’s license suspension.

He was charged in November after a late-September crash that killed 44-year-old Melissa Aschliman of Auburn. According to police, Nader’s Jeep was southbound on Bluffton Road when it crossed the centerline and struck Aschliman’s car.

Additional charges of causing death while operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.08 or more, and reckless homicide will be dismissed when he is sentenced in June.
