Two men accused of working together to steal copper from a Fort Wayne metal recycling company were charged Thursday.
According to court documents, James J. Hines and Stanley Collins, both of Fort Wayne, were arrested Sunday after Hines, 46, was caught using a ladder to scale a 12-foot wall at an OmniSource property and removing copper materials from a bin.
Collins, 50, was waiting outside the OmniSource property with a truck to load the materials, court documents said.
The copper removed by Hines weighed 120 pounds and was valued at $351, according to court documents.
Hines, of the 300 block of West Superior Street, and Collins, of the 2900 block of Stinson Street, were each being held in lieu of $12,500 bail. Both are charged with theft and corrupt business influence.
