Classes asked to name Fort Wayne falcon chicks

Indiana Michigan Power has extended the deadline for local classrooms to help name the peregrine falcon chicks in a nest atop the One Summit Square building.

Moxie and Jamie have four chicks, the company said.

I&M is asking Allen County classrooms in grades 5 and under to submit one falcon name by email to Erica Putt at ehputt@aep.com by May 16.

They are asked to include the name of the school, the grade level of the class and the teacher’s contact information.

The winning names will be selected by the company’s followers on social media.

The gender of the chicks will not be known prior to the banding.
