Work begins on Coliseum, Lima

FORT WAYNE – Asphalt resurfacing preparations are underway on both Coliseum Boulevard and Lima Road in Fort Wayne.

The Indiana Department of Transportation announced Monday that sidewalk ramps will be removed, starting today, and the prep work is expected to be finished Thursday.

This will be done during daylight hours, the announcement said.

The work might require some restriction of the southbound Lima Road (U.S. 27) right-turn lane to westbound Washington Center Road, INDOT said.

After the ramps work is finished, about 7 p.m. Thursday, intermittent nighttime restrictions will resume on Lima Road, between Coliseum Boulevard (Indiana 930) and Washington Center Road, INDOT said. The asphalt milling and paving is scheduled to be done at night, ending by 6 a.m. daily.

Later this spring and summer, INDOT said, Coliseum Boulevard will be milled and resurfaced from Interstate 69 to Parnell Avenue and from Crescent Avenue to Reynolds Street, just south of the cloverleaf. That work will also be done at night.
