Body found in St. Joseph River is identified

FORT WAYNE – A Fort Wayne man who drowned in the St. Joseph River has been identified.

The body of Jeffery Bultemeier, 58, was found near the IPFW campus Sunday morning, according to the Allen County Coroner’s Office and police reports.

This death remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

His family reported him missing early last week, and his car was found by the boat ramp at Shoaff Park.

Police, along with city firefighters and state conservation officers, began searching for him downstream Tuesday, police said.
