SC ex-governor Sanford seeks comeback from scandal
By BRUCE SMITHAssociated Press Writer
Sanford, a Republican, and Colbert Busch, a Democrat and sister of political satirist Stephen Colbert, are to face off for the seat vacated when Tim Scott was appointed to the U.S. Senate. Green Party candidate Eugene Platt also is on the ballot.
Sanford is seeking a political comeback after a scandal erupted in 2009 in his second term as governor over disclosure that the then-married governor had an Argentine mistress.
He campaigned Monday with Jim Edwards, South Carolina's first Republican governor since Reconstruction.
Colbert Busch spent a fourth day Monday riding a blue-and-white campaign bus seeking last-minute votes.
