Body found in St. Joseph River

Fort Wayne police and fire departments and Indiana Department of Natural Resources conservation officers are investigating a body found Sunday in the St. Joseph River, police spokeswoman Officer Raquel Foster reported Sunday.

All three agencies have been at Shoaff Park since Tuesday investigating what was believed to be a missing person, she said.

Sunday morning, the remains of what appears to be an adult man were found in the river, she said. It was unclear whether the remains found belong to the missing person, she said.

Conservation officers will lead the investigation.
