Nuttman Avenue resident gets 8 years for crack sales

A 29-year-old Fort Wayne man accused of dealing crack cocaine received a nearly eight-year prison sentence in U.S. District Court on Thursday.

Mark Honer, of the 800 block of Nuttman Avenue, previously pleaded guilty to one count of possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine, according to federal court documents.

Federal investigators arrested Honer in December 2011 after he dealt more than 28 grams of the drug to an undercover detective in a controlled buy.

In total, federal investigators accused Honer of distributing 245 grams – about a half-pound – between early June and November 2011.

He also had handguns, ammunition and $3,000 in cash in his home, according to court documents.
