Special music

Trinity English Lutheran Church, 405 W. Wayne St., will have its May Music Festival 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday. The event includes festive anthems, hymns, Celebration and Trinity Ringers, choirs and instrumentalists from the Fort Wayne Philharmonic.

First Presbyterian Church of Van Wert, 128 E. Maple Ave., Van Wert, Ohio, will present its spring concert, “Sing On! Dance On!” at 7 p.m. Sunday.

First Pilgrim Holiness Church, 1508 Ardmore Ave., will host the Witness Men’s Trio from Union Bible College at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

The Fort Wayne Alumni and Friends Resource Center of Taylor University will have a Sunday Sing at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at First Missionary Church, 701 W. Rudisill Blvd. The event will pay tribute to gospel singer George Beverly Shea. For more information, call 744-8790 or email alumnifw@taylor.edu.

The Mennonite Choral Society will have its spring concert at 7 p.m. Sunday at the First Mennonite Church in Berne. A free-will offering will be taken and nursery service will be provided.

Special events

The community prayer event, “Prayers for the City – A Celebration of One Community, Many Faiths,” will be from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the Performing Arts Center of the University of Saint Francis, 431 W. Berry St. The event is free and features prayers, singing, dances and readings from religious traditions representing Baha’i, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism, Islam, Sikhism and Unitarian Universalism. Attendees are asked to bring a nonperishable food item that will be donated to Community Harvest Food Bank.

Ossian Lifetree Café will feature the topic “The Black and White Truth About Racism … Will We Ever Live in a Colorblind World?” from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Ossian Presbyterian Church, 123 S. Jefferson, Ossian.

First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 4800 S. Calhoun St., will have a rummage and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 11.
