  • Ex-TinCap Mallex Smith voted minors' top offensive player
    Mallex Smith, who was the TinCaps' center fielder for the 2013 season and the first half of 2014, was voted by fans as the top offensive player in the minor leagues during the past season.

Felix Cabrera back on roster

The TinCaps, in conjunction with the San Diego Padres, announced that infielder Felix Cabrera has been transferred from Double-A San Antonio to Fort Wayne.

Cabrera, 23, was on Fort Wayne's 2013 opening day roster, and played in one game, going 1-for-5 on April 6th at Great Lakes. With San Antonio this season, he was 0-for-3, appearing in two games.

Last season in 18 games with the TinCaps, Cabrera hit .209 with one home run and four runs batted in. The addition of Cabrera puts Fort Wayne at the Midwest League roster limit of 25 players.
