Kosciusko warns of credit card scam

Kosciusko County residents are warned to avoid a credit card scam being sent by email that asks for personal information to activate a suspended card.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department said the email message states that the owner’s credit card has been suspended and then explains that reactivating the card is quick and easy.

The email then asks the user to complete a downloaded form that is attached to the message and include personal information such as Social Security number, mother’s maiden name, credit card number and personal identification number, officials said.
