Man charged with operating meth lab

Two half brothers face felony charges after Fort Wayne police searched a garage and found ingredients for cooking methamphetamine, according to court papers.

On March 14, narcotics detectives searched the garage at 2925 Plaza Drive and concluded that meth had been made there, court papers stated.

The man who lived at the home, Norman Walda, 34, told police his half brother, Richard Rodgers-Potter, had been making meth for four or five weeks. In the week before the search, an undercover officer bought 3.3 grams of meth in the garage, court papers said.

Walda was charged Tuesday with a felony count of maintaining a common nuisance. He had not been arrested as of Tuesday evening.

Rodgers-Potter, 26, faces felony charges of neglect of a dependent, possession of anhydrous ammonia, maintaining a common nuisance, methamphetamine possession and three counts of dealing meth, as well as two misdemeanors: marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was being held Tuesday at the Allen County Jail in lieu of $169,000 bail.
