Zeta-Jones in care for disorder

A spokeswoman for Catherine Zeta-Jones says the actress has “proactively” checked into a mental health facility for treatment of her bipolar condition.

Publicist Sarah Fuller said in an email to The Associated Press late Monday that Zeta-Jones “is committed to periodic care in order to manage her health in an optimum manner.”

Two years ago, the 43-year-old Oscar winner checked into a similar facility for a brief stay for treatment of her condition, known as Bipolar II. The disorder is characterized by mood swings and depressive episodes and is commonly treated with medication and psychotherapy.

Allen casts film

Woody Allen is returning to France for his next film, and he’s bringing Colin Firth and Emma Stone along as its stars.

Producers Letty Aronson and Stephen Tenenbaum announced Tuesday that Allen is set to start shooting his untitled new comedy this summer.

Chesney charity

Country star Kenny Chesney is starting a fund to help people who lost limbs in the Boston Marathon bombing.

A Tuesday news release says Chesney has established the “Spread the Love” fund with his own donation and will gift sales of his single by the same name as well. Donations will go to Boston Medical Center and other area facilities. Fans also can donate directly to the fund at http://bmc.org/Kenny.

The money will go to the purchase of prosthetics and fitting, follow-up care and physical therapy.
