Pit bull party is Sunday

Statement as issued by the Fort Wayne Pit Bull Coalition:

FORT WAYNE, IN – May 5th, 2013 – Fort Wayne Pit Bull Coalition announced their “2nd Annual Pits in the Park” event to be held on May 5th, 2013 at Freimann Square, downtown Fort Wayne. “Pits In the Park” will include multiple shelters, rescues, and local businesses as vendors, live music throughout the event, a “kissing booth” for attendees to make a donation for a loving pit bull “kiss”, and a “Pit Bull Parade” open for everyone to participate.

“Pits in the Park” will run from 1:00pm to 4:00pm on Sunday May 5th, 2013. The Pit Bull Parade is at 2:30pm and will be a route around the Freimann Square block.

The music line-up consists of John Shipe and Sunny Taylor, along with Education Seminars on training, obedience and the importance of spay and neuter.

"Bringing the community together to celebrate a breed of dog that is often times misjudged is important, but even more so, educating the public and pit bull owners on proper ownership is paramount to promoting a community that is safe for everyone," states Stephanie DeBolt, Fort Wayne Pit Bull Coalition Board President.
