TinCaps score road win

The TinCaps picked up a 6-5 road win over the Burlington Bees on Wednesday at Community Field in Burlington, Iowa.

Fort Wayne (15-10) scored the game-winner in the top of the ninth when Maxx Tissenbaum’s single scored Alberth Martinez, who had doubled.

Martinez, who had a grand slam Wednesday in a 7-5 win over Clinton, was 4 for 5 with another home run and two runs scored.

Fort Wayne began May with a win on the road after going 4-7 away from Parkview Field in April.

Burlington (9-13), coming off a six-game road trip, hasn’t won at home since April 9.

The TinCaps scored three times in the fourth and twice in the sixth to take a 5-3 lead. Burlington scored runs in the seventh and eighth to tie the game at 5.

Gabriel Quintana extended his hitting streak to a team-high nine games with a double.

Tissenbaum was 2 for 5, and Luis Tejada and Brian Adams each went 2 for 4.

Genison Reyes (3-1) picked up the win in relief after throwing one inning and giving up a run. Christopher Nunn got his second save.

TinCaps starter Joe Ross went five innings, giving up seven hits and three runs (two earned) and got a no-decision.
