Women's tennis team to face Michigan

Riding a 17-match winning streak which included capturing the Summit League tournament title, IPFW's women's tennis team will face sixth-ranked Michigan in the first round of the NCAA tournament May 10 in Ann Arbor, Mich.

The Mastodons (23-7) found out their first-round opponent during a live NCAA selection show telecast.

They will face the 10th-seeded Wolverines (21-5) at 1 p.m. at the Varsity Tennis Center at the University of Michigan. Joining the Mastodons and Michigan in Ann Arbor will be Notre Dame (17-8) and North Carolina State (14-9), who will play at 10 a.m. Friday's winners will return to play Saturday at 1 p.m.

Michigan is the regular season Big Ten champion, and IPFW won the Summit League regular season title, as well as the conference tournament. Michigan had an eight-match streak snapped in a loss to Northwestern in the Big Ten tournament.
