Car crashes near state line

Two men were injured Saturday night on the Indiana-Ohio state line when the driver of the car they were traveling in failed to stop for a stop sign and drove off the road, police said.

The driver, Logan D. Norton, of Pleasant Lake, was traveling west on County Road L in Williams County, Ohio, at about 10:22 p.m. and failed to stop at the intersection of County Road L and County Road 1000 East in Steuben County, according to a release from the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department.

Norton, 30, drove the 1994 Lincoln Town Car off the west side of the roadway, striking an embankment and a fence before stopping in a field, the release said.

Norton refused medical treatment and was taken to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office where he was charged with driving while intoxicated, officers said.

He was later treated for a broken hand and facial injuries.

His passenger, 34-year-old Nathan D. Norton, also of Pleasant Lake, was transported to Parkview Regional Medical Center with a broken hip and facial injuries, according to the release.
